Cameron Station – where life blooms!

Welcome to a website custom tailored to help folks learn more about living in this very special community. Please enjoy exploring the features of the site at your leisure – from real estate listings to floor plans to photographs, and more.

Located in the west end of Alexandria, Virginia, Cameron Station is a master planned community composed of single family homes, townhomes, and multiple condominium buildings. Constructed in phases beginning in 1999 on the site of a former Army logistics center, the neighborhood includes a number of common spaces and amenities such as parks, a community clubhouse, and a fitness center. Located nearby are dog runs, walking trails, public schools, a library, hospitals, firehouses, and an auxiliary police department post.

Widely viewed as one of the most well planned communities in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the neighborhood features architecture that is modern yet reflects the rich history of the City of Alexandria, with tree-lined brick sidewalks, colonial-style street lamps, and extensive year-round professional landscaping and maintenance. Uniquely situated, Cameron Station is located eleven miles from Washington, D.C., with easy access to the Capital Beltway (I-495), I-95/I-395, and the Van Dorn Metrorail station. The community provides free shuttle bus service to the Metro station during weekday rush hours; Metrobus, Fairfax Connector, and DASH transit bus service stations are also easily accessible. Alexandria even has its own Amtrak station!

The city of Washington is one of the world’s most historic, vibrant, diverse, and beautiful, and many Cameron Cameron-Station-BlvdStation residents regularly take advantage of its proximity and attractions – including its conveniently located urban airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport – on a regular basis. But closer to home, Northern Virginia has much to offer in itself. Near to Cameron Station are neighborhoods rich in opportunities for dining, learning, playing, and shopping, including Old Town Alexandria, Del Ray, Clarendon, Kingstowne, Shirlington, Crystal City, and National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland on the Potomac River, with its hotels, restaurants, and seasonal events, not to mention the new Tanger Outlets and MGM National Harbor casino complex.

The Cameron Station community itself has a number of charming and lovely pocket parks tucked among its townhouses (great gathering spots for neighbors on Halloween eve, among other occasions), as well as being adjacent to Armistead L. Boothe Park and Ben Brenman Park. The parks feature a lake, bike path, and dog parks; during warmer months, the Brenman Park plays host to a thriving farmers market as well.

For those who prefer to enjoy their recreation inside, the Cameron Club – renovated in 2015 — is a 13,600 square foot community center featuring a great room with kitchen for social, civic, and business gatherings, meeting rooms, a well-equipped, sun-filled fitness center, and outdoor adult and children’s pools. Just down the street are daycare facilities, a cleverly stocked market, a cheerful cafe, a bespoke salon and spa, a convenient dry cleaning shop, a very convenient dentist, and a popular full service restaurant – all of which support and contribute to the community in a variety of ways. Within walking distance are several bank branches, popular restaurants, salons and spas, a full service CVS pharmacy, and the Shops at Foxchase, which feature a Harris Teeter supermarket as an anchor tenant along with a variety of other businesses that make living in Cameron Station oh-so-convenient.

Life does bloom in Cameron Station, in every season, in part thanks to its diverse residential real estate options. From single family homes to cozy condominiums, with its small town feel, easy commuting, and verdant environment, Cameron Station accommodates residents in all stages of life, from newborn infants to retired folks. A short walk around the community will reveal residents lazing on a bench in the sun, sipping a coffee at the café, training for a marathon with a run on the streets, playing in the park with a gaggle of preschoolers, sprucing up their landscaping, meeting with a city council member in the Club, updating their paperwork at the on-site community administrative offices, relaxing with family at the pool, and decorating the Club’s great room for a birthday party.

Residents show their love for Cameron Station in a myriad of ways: many formal and informal groups actively support the community and the City of Alexandria by volunteering, donating, hosting holiday-themed parties, and even publishing a bimonthly newsmagazine, The Compass, dedicated to celebrating this lovely enclave and its many happenings.
